  In the past we have always enjoyed having dinner upstairs in the bar and appreciated the cozy, relaxed atmosphere, however our dinner on Sat. evening was not as good. It certainly wasn't cozy, down right chilly and had to eat my dinner with my coat wrapped around my legs. We were there at 6:30 in the evening and were informed that there was only one
  rib-eye left. (would have expected to have plenty that early in the evening)
  The rib-eye was almost not eatable and for the price, it should have melted in your mouth! Sad to say we will not be returning :(

  Great rustic atmosphere and friendly service. I had beef kabobs. Very tender and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her pasta dish.

  If you're a local here in New Hampshire, you know all about the Common Man chain of restaurants. Each has it's own theme. Some are diners.
  
  This particular place is what you might expect of an old tavern. They could have shot the one early scene in the Lord of the Rings movie here where the hobbits meet up with Aragon.
  
  Anyway, the food is good, the prices are reasonable and the staff is great. It's by no means a five-star place. I gave it four because if you rank it against almost any other NH restaurant that's not a national chain, it's better than the run-of-the-mill places.
  
  You'll not be disappointed here.
